Dr. Michael Gitelis is an accomplished orthopedic surgeon who has three decades of professional experience. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and his Medical Degree from Rosalind Franklin University at Chicago Medical School. He completed his orthopedic training at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes Hospital and went on to complete an Arthroscopic Fellowship with Dr. Lanny Johnson, the forefather of the arthroscopic technique.
Dr. Gitelis is an innovator and inventor. He is an expert in all aspects of the musculoskeletal infrastructure as well as ligament and tendon repair and reconstruction. He assesses the needs of his patients in order to offer the best treatment. Dr. Gitelis is an expert in arthroscopic surgery. He has extensive experience and has performed over ten thousand arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgeries.
Dr. Gitelis incorporates the use of PRP and other regenerative therapy techniques when indicated, as well as other biologics in and out of surgery. He uses regenerative therapy instead of surgery when he feels that can result in the best outcome for his patients.
